Allergy Awareness Week

It is allergy awareness week this week, and as I have two little poppets with allergy’s this is a great opportunity to share where I get my favourite recipes from.

I’m a huge fan of The Healthy Chef. Teresa Cutter has the most beautiful and easy recipes that are easily adaptable to suit your certain allergy or diet requirements. She always provides options for swapping ingredients in and out depending on what you can or can’t eat. There are too many recipes available for free on her website to even count and she also has a cookbook available if you love her as much as I do.

My favourite recipes for baking are:

Blueberry Muffins

Chocolate Cupcakes

and I really like the look of the Lemon Yoghurt Cupcakes

She does use honey in her cooking, which is a no go if you’re just starting to quit sugar, but I feel comfortable adding it back in to my diet now. There is generally a couple of tablespoons over 12 muffins, so the amount I am eating is very small and within the 6 teaspoons a day guidelines.

Another super cool chick with the goods on allergy friendly eating is the Spunky Coconut, she even has a section of recipes that are egg free like this:nutellapie3

N’oatmeal Bars (grain free, egg free, low GI)

Chocolate Hazelnut Pies

Kelly also has a range of cookbooks available, including a paleo chocolate cookbook coming out soon.

There are many, many other fabulous websites out there for people with various allergy’s or intolerances, if you have any great ones for me I’d love to hear about them.
